Music Go Round® is part of a franchise system that has been supporting unique retail franchise opportunities since 1988. If you don’t have a retail background – don’t worry! Most of our new franchisees do not come from retail which is why our experienced training team is so important. The first thing you’ll notice about our team is the excitement and passion they bring to the training process.

With over 75 hours of classroom and in-store training on topics such as employee management, merchandising, store operations and customer service, you’ll gain the knowledge you’ll need to launch your new store.

Key topics during your first week include:

musicPlan Business Planning.
Banks lend on performance and Music Go Round delivers. One full day of training is dedicated to building a detailed three year business plan and proforma you can take to the bank. Winmark doesn’t provide financing however lenders are very familiar with the Music Go Round brand. In addition, all brands are listed on the Franchise Registry which helps streamline the loan process.
musicSite Retail Site Selection.
With five retail brands and 1,184 stores we understand commercial real estate and the needs of our franchisees. Music Go Round stores are located in both traditional strip centers and urban locations. Our franchisees have completed transactions across the US and we’re here to guide you through the process from site selection to lease signing.
musicInst Product Knowledge/Used Product Training.
Most new franchisees come to Music Go Round familiar with the gear and equipment for one or two instruments and are concerned they don’t have enough knowledge of the other categories. No problem! Our training staff will educate you on all of the latest equipment, gear and accessories.

musicGroup Field Operations.
An important benefit you gain with franchising is ongoing operational support. Most of our franchisees have never owned their own business before and very few have owned a retail location. Music Go Round’s Field Operations Managers are retail experts with years of experience from some of the top retailers like, Target®, JC Penney®, Best Buy®, Old Navy®, Kohl’s® and more. They’re your front line partner and liaison to the rest of the home office team.

Music Go Round franchisees also have the support of a Marketing Manager and marketing team dedicated to delivering professionally produced television and radio commercials, digital marketing assets, direct mail materials, local store marketing programs and so much more. As a Winmark franchisee you will have access to a media buyer experienced in working with the Music Go Round brand. They’ll work with you to lay out your media plan ensuring your marketing dollars are spent in the right places to generate the best return on your investment.

In 2010, of the 31 stores that reported, 15 or 48% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. In 2012, of the 31 stores that reported, 13 or 42% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. In 2014, of the 29 stores that reported, 13 stores or 45% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. In 2015, of the 30 stores that reported, 13 stores or 43% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. A new franchisee’s results will likely differ from these results.
