Most of our new franchisees do not come from retail which is why our experienced training team is so important. The first thing you’ll notice about our team is the excitement and passion they bring to the training process.

With over 75 hours of classroom and in-store training on topics such as employee management, merchandising, store operations and customer service, you’ll gain the knowledge you’ll need to launch your new store.

Banks lend on performance and our brands deliver. To assist you in acquiring financing for your business, one full day of training is dedicated to building a detailed three year plan and proforma you can take to the bank. Winmark doesn’t provide financing however lenders are very familiar with history and performance of the Play It Again Sports brand. In addition, all brands are listed on the Franchise Registry which helps streamline the loan process.
playSite Retail Site Selection.
Finding the right location is the goal for all new franchisees and Winmark is here to assist. With five retail brands and 1,184 stores we understand commercial real estate and the needs of our franchisees. Play It Again Sports franchisees have completed transactions across the US and Canada and we’re here to guide you through the process from site selection to lease signing.
playEquip Product Knowledge/Used Product Training.
Most new franchisees come to Play It Again Sports familiar with the equipment in a few sports and a concern they don’t know the other categories as well. Don’t let that worry you! Our training staff will educate you on all of the latest equipment in each category.

**Amounts stated are as reported in Item 19 of the 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016 Play It Again Sports® Franchise Disclosure Documents, respectively (based on the previous year’s Gross Sales). In 2010, of the 309 stores that reported, 120 or 39% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. In 2012, of the 306 stores that reported, 116 or 38% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. In 2014, of the 283 stores that reported, 103 stores or 36% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. In 2015, of the 278 stores that reported, 109 stores or 39% of the reporting stores attained or exceeded the Average Gross Sales. A new franchisee’s results will likely differ from these results.
