Our Training for Franchisees
With over 65 hours of classroom and in-store training on topics such as starting your corporation, store operations, employee training, product knowledge, and customer service, you’ll gain the knowledge you’ll need to open your franchise.
Key topics during your first week include:
Business Planning
Banks today want to lend to businesses with a track record of success—and
Winmark has that with more than two decades of experience in this industry.
In your first week of training, you will build a detailed three-year business
plan and proforma you can take to the bank. While Winmark does not provide
direct financing, lending institutions are very familiar with our brands.
In addition, all of the Winmark brands are listed on the Franchise Registry
which will help in streamlining the loan process.
Retail Site Selection
With over 30 years of experience in operating these businesses, we understand
commercial real estate and the needs of our franchisees. Our franchisees
have signed literally hundreds of leases across North America over the
past decades, and we are here to help guide you in that process.
Style and Trend Training
Concerned you may not be in tune with the many changing styles of women's
apparel and accessories? Don’t be. Our training staff will educate
you on the hottest trends in apparel,
shoes, handbags, accessories and more. You’ll learn how to buy used
items and what new inventory is appropriate for your store.
Ongoing Support
At Winmark, our franchisees are never without the support they need to face the changing landscape of marketplace challenges. Our franchise partners always have access to the resources and insight they need to help grow their business and ensure that it is doing what it can to connect with customers.
Field Operations
We have the best field operations staff in resale-retail! They are uniquely
qualified for what they do and they are here to provide you with the best
support possible to help you succeed. Winmark’s Field Operations
Managers are retail and operational experts with years of experience with
some of the top retailers in the world like, Target®, JC Penney®, Best Buy®, Old Navy®, Saks Fifth Avenue® and more. They’re your front line partner and liaison to the rest
of the home office team.
Marketing and Advertising
The Style Encore Marketing Manager works with the entire marketing department
to deliver professionally produced television and radio commercials, digital
and social marketing assets, event marketing materials, local store marketing
programs and much more. In addition, as a Winmark franchisee,
you will also have access to a preferred marketing vendor experienced in
working with the brand. They’ll work with you to lay out a marketing
plan, ensuring your marketing dollars are spent in the right places to
generate the best return on your investment.
